Trivia
- Celtic & World War One
- While Celtic were winning against the Dons, Hearts were losing at Greenock, where Morton took the lead after 20 minutes and Hearts missed two penalty-kicks (Mellies and Gracie) either side of half time. These results mean that for the first time this season Celtic go top by one point with a game in hand.

McMenemy scored for Celtic after 10 minutes’ exciting play, and the same player came near adding a second before the interval. The Celts held the upper hand all through, gaining numerous corner kicks, but the visitor’s defences withstood every assault, though McAtee once struck the upright and McColl the goalkeeper with fast shots. The Aberdeen forwards could make no impression, and Celtic took the lead in the competition for the first time.
