- Celtic's Ribchester was playing his second and last game for the bhoys before joining the army where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant.
- Celtic's Mickey Hamill would enter the pantheon of legendary footballers for many things but is remembered also for the story that in 1921, when Egyptian player Tewfick Abdullah making his debut for Derby County against Manchester City ran on to the heavily sanded pitch shouting "Where's me camel?" His actual words were directed towards the player he was allocated to mark, and were in fact "Where's Mick Hamill?" who was playing with City.

No team can now claim to have scored in every match. Lacking McAtee and McMenemy, the Celtic attack possessed neither motive nor brain power, and the Thistle defenders were asked to stall off a very moderate set of forwards, which they did. But the visitors had hopes of doing more than that. They had reasonable grounds for expecting that the time had come for their first victory in the competition over opponents who have only a minor Cup defeat to place against a long series of victories extending over a quarter of a century. However, an even draw at Parkhead is an indication of what may happen in the return fixture at Firhill, provided the home team show a little more confidence when opposed to the present Champions.
