- In opposition to the bhoys this day is ex-Celt, Willie Mitchell about whom it was reported that he was "the most methodical member of the Partick Thistle attack… very elusive", and William Hamilton at centre-half, about whom not much is known except that he played for Thistle in their infamous Orange Lodge Fund Raiser in1915. That midweek, wartime match, was organised by the Jags to raise funds for building an Orange Hall.
