Match report from The Scotsman, 29th September 1921
[…] A brilliant first half display by Celtic enabled them to defeat Partick Thistle in the replayed Glasgow Cup (semi final) at Firhill. From the start Celtic took command of the game, and after Gallacher had flashed the ball past the post, Cassidy cleverly tricked three Thistle defenders and gave Campbell no chance with a fast ground drive. In the subsequent play the Thistle defenders were overrun, and only Campbell's brilliance in goal prevented Gallacher, McInally and McLean from increasin Celtic's lead. After twenty-eight minutes' play, delightful passing by the Celtic inside forwards resulted in McInally again beating Campbell. An injury to Dodds, who went to outside left, disorganised Celtic, and Thistle were seen to better advantage. Kinloch had a great chance to reduce the lead, but he lifted the ball over the bar with only Shaw to beat. Crichton, Blair, Kinloch, and McMenemy were outstanding for Thistle, and McNair and Gallagher for Celtic.
