CASSIDY GETS THREE GOALS FOR CELTIC
The feature of the game at Celtic Park, Glasgow, where the Celtic defeated Morton, was the splendid form and deadly shooting shown by Cassidy. The Celtic centre-forward scored all three goals for his side, and had several other fine efforts saved by Edwards, the Morton goalkeeper. On a fast ground some fine outfield play was seen, particularly from Gallacher and Cassidy on the one side, and Brown and McKay on the other. After twenty minutes' play Connelly, after beating Davis, crossed nicely into goal, for Cassidy to head the ball past Edwards. Morton attacked a lot after that, but their finishing was weak, and Shaw was rarely called upon. Within a minute of resuming a capital movement on the Morton right resulted in French making the scores level. Cassidy soon put the Celtic on the lead again, and just before the finish he completed the "hat-trick." Edwards kept a fine goal, and of the other Morton men Gourlay was best. The attendance would be about 9000.
