The Parkhead Dual
The meeting of Celtic and Airdrieonians at Parkhead was productive of both keenness and good football. The latter was well apportioned between the pair, for if the youthful Celtic vanguard played with such dash and skill during the first half as to indicate that in Currie, the King’s Park goalkeeper, the Airdrie club have secured a worthy understudy to Ewart. After the interval the Broomfield five led the home defence a merry dance that the latter must have hailed the final whistle with relief. Under the circumstances a draw was the correct result, and Celtic, who achieved something of a record in the way of drawn games last season, look like emulating their performances again, for this was their third draw in eight days. They have yet to win a game, but they are better than Aberdeen and St Mirren, as both these clubs are still pointless.
