The Glasgow Herald, Mon 29 Dec 1924
At Kirkcaldy, Celtic against Raith Rovers included their veteran back, McNair, and in the continued absence of Gallagher advanced their half-back, Wilson, to the inside right position. Raith Rovers played better than in any previous game this season. They twice led in scoring, but the division of the points was a proper ending to a game that was creditable to both teams.

RAITH ROVERS AND CELTIC DRAW
About 10,000 spectators were present at Stark’s Park, Kirkcaldy, where the Raith Rovers and the Celtic played a drawn game. The exchanges were fast and level all through, and the result was a good indication of the respective merits of the teams. The Rovers scored first by Morris, their centre-half, who headed the ball through from a well placed corner kick by Bell, and led at half-time by 1 goal to 0. Two minutes play after the interval saw the Celtic level, Fleming scoring from a cross by Connelly when the Rovers’ defence was badly out of position. Fifteen minutes from the end the Rovers again secured the lead, by James, who scored with a tremendous drive from 25 yards’ range from a free kick given against W. McStay. Five minutes later Connelly equalised with a header that dropped just under the bar, Mathieson, the Rovers’ goalkeeper, being unable to get at the ball owing to the attentions of another Celtic forward. Raith pressed hard at the end, but failed to get the winning goal.
