The Glasgow Herald – Mon April 20, 1925
It was different however at Celtic Park, where Queen’s Park took one point out of their game with Celtic, and in which, with reasonable finishing near the close, the Amateurs would have secured the additional point necessary to make their position unassailable.
Queen’s Park opened well and earned a corner, but it was not converted. After an unsuccessful raid by Celtic the visitors returned to the attack, and in 18 minutes Moreland beat Shevlin. In the second half Celtic pressed vigorously and in ten minutes Connolly rushed in and scored the equalising goal. The home side maintained the attack but failed to secure the lead.

QUEEN’S GEAT A POINT AT PARKHEAD
About 8000 spectators were present at Celtic Park Glasgow, where Queen’s Park, who are fighting to escape relegation, gained a valuable point from Celtic. Wind and rain made the conditions unpleasant, but the football served up was of a high standard, and kept the crowd interested to the end. Queen’s started in great style, their forwards keeping the ball moving freely. After ten minutes Moreland got in a great drive, which Shevlin just managed to get at, but a few minutes later the inside right had another try, which clean beat the Celtic goalkeeper. After this Celtic began to put more energy into their play, but although they pressed strongly, the fine defensive work of Sneddon and Wiseman kept them out, and Gibbs had few dangerous shots to hold. After the interval Celtic went all out for an equaliser, and in ten minutes Connelly beat Gibbs, after McGrory hit the post. From that to the finish the play was more even, but both defences were able for all that came their way. In the closing minutes R. Gillespie had a great chance to give Queen’s the lead, but he shot wide from ten yards range.
