Details

Celtic TV was launched in 2004 by Irish-based broadcasters Setanta and was the official television channel of the club. It closed down in June 2009 when Setanta went into administration.

The channel was originally availible on Sky digital to subscribers of the Setanta Sports Pack and ran on Monday to Friday throughout the year. Its programming mostly featured re-runs of games from recent seasons along with some older games. All SPL and Champions League games were shown in full, usually a day or two after they have been played. Much of the games and other shows were repeated on a regular basis.

Apart from matches Celtic TV did also occasionally broadcast documentaries on the club and famous players. It also had one off features on particular events or personalities. Perhaps the most popular show was the Daily Huddle – a 30 minute daily news show. Regular pundits on the Daily Huddle included Jim Craig – who also hosted the show on occasion – Bertie Auld, Peter Latchford, Tosh McKinlay and Mike Jackson.

Following the collapse of Setanta in 2009, Celtic TV was suspended indefinitely but soon brought back.
