- Celtic qualify for the first time into the group stages.
- Celtic reach a then record number of points for a team not to progress through to the next round (Celtic on 9pts), since beaten.
- Celtic win all home games and lose all away games, a pattern that seems to remain for a long time to come at Celtic.
- Our first game should have been against Rosenberg at home, but was postponed because of the Twin Towers/9-11 atrocity. RIP
- Celtic ‘cheated’ out of a point against Juve as Amaruso dives for a penalty.
- Celtic’s 4-3 win over Juve is ranked as one of the best matches of the tournament, and repeatedly heralded by many fans as one of the best Celtic matches ever to watch.
- Ex-Celt Brattback gets a bit of his own back v Celtic with some goals, but all still have some respect for him. He didn’t succeed at Celtic but wasn’t for lack of trying.
