"Welcome to CQ Magazine!CQ Magazine - Pic

The current commercial challenges in the media industry, with cutbacks in journalist numbers and in the increasing dependence on agency generated copy, creates opportunities for new outlets for Celtic news and information. CQ Magazine is produced for and by Celtic supporters and emerged from the Celtic Quick News blog in August 2011. It is professionally produced and aims to reach further than the blog could.

We publish monthly and the floor is open to subscribers to write articles to bring their views, memories and anecdotes to our readers. If you would like to contribute, get in touch: articles@cqmagazine.co.uk.

If you are under-18, unemployed or on low income, you are entitled to subscribe for free. Paid subscriptions are available for either £10 or £20 per year at your discretion. Your support is needed to make the magazine as successful as possible and is enormously appreciated.

A guide to using CQ Magazine

At the top right of your screen are various control buttons. From here you can print or download a copy of the magazine. There are also navigation controls, allowing you to search, zoom, jump to the table of contents or change the page layout. You will also find a button allowing you to subscribe to the magazine.

Arrow buttons on the left and right of the screen allow you to turn pages or jump to the first or last page. You can also use the slide bar at the bottom of the screen to scroll through thumbnail pages until you get what you want.

One of the great benefits of an online magazine is the opportunity to embed video, which you will see on many pages. CQ Magazine can be read on an iPad or smartphone (you need to double click to view videos on a smartphone).

CQ Magazine is also available for worldwide delivery in a professionally published print format from Magcloud.com – because we all need a break from the screen now and then.

Enjoy the read!"

Review

CQN website have turned on its head the general received wisdom in these internet days. With the sales & importance of fanzines having lost their position, CQN decided to actually release an internet based magazine which is also available to buy in print format, utilising both formats.

It's an incredibly well put together magazine, with very good articles. Intelligent arguments and analysis, it is something new away from the internet for those who look print in hand rather than on screen. It's quite a challenge to make this taking in that the net is full of free articles on Celtic (on forums and sites), and we hope it the best.

Highly recommended and hoped this magazine could have a long history.

Post Note
However, not surprisingly despite the undeniable quality of the magazine and the fine work, it couldn't last. The format was excellent but the internet via forums and article sites have made old style magazines near redundant. CQN magazine was a half way house in the modern sphere, and a fine effort. Much to respect.
