Played in Celtic's U16 team during 1999/00 but found himself behind Steven McManus and John Kennedy in the centre back stakes.
Does not appear to have been kept on and spent 2000/01 in Clyde's youth setup, before moving to Falkirk a year later. Captained the 'bairns' U21 team and made the first team breakthrough in 02/03 with eight League appearances.
Helped Falkirk win the First Division that year but became a victim of costcutting when the club's dilapidated ground debarred them from promotion to the SPL.
Duly did his pre-season on trial with Stirling Albion then signed for Junior heavyweights Linlithgow Rose in August 2003.
Generally impressed with the Rose but moved on to Camelon after two seasons, now sporting a burgeoning collection of red cards and a question mark over his temperament. All-too-often his efforts on Junior parks resembled not what he had learned at Celtic, but those of his boyhood heroes from Ibrox!
Still with Camelon where he captains the side and has by all accounts 'screwed the nut'.
