This release has all the hall marks of stop gap release in a season where there was nothing else to release a video/DVD about.

It’s premise is a look at those Celts whose pride and passion goes beyond just football and to that extent it does a job. You could probably pick the players who were going to be featured bar one. Top marks if you selected Jimmy Johnstone, Billy McNeill, Paul McStay, Peter Grant and Tommy burns. All Celts who gave everything for the cause.

There are interviews with all of them except oddly Paul McStay. The Tommy Burns one looks to have been carried out at Reading’s stadium going by the seat colours in the background.

It’s all fairly standard stuff about their love for the club, how they got into the team, the successes and how great the fans are. Some of the footage we’ve seen a million times but there are some lesser seen clips that make it worthwhile. There’s also a short montage of clips of Johnny Doyle.
The strangest bit of the video is the inclusion of Murdo Macleod. Might just be me but as good a player as he was I wouldn’t have had him down in the same group as those mentioned above. His inclusion looks to be an excuse to lever in the stopping the 10 season, when he was assistant manager, and a rare interview with Wim Jansen. As odd as the inclusion is it is probably the most interesting part as interviews with Wim are fairly uncommon and hearing them discuss the Stopping the 10 season had me wanting to hear more. There is surely a programme to be made regarding that whole season.

As I said at the beginning it has all the signs as being a stop gap release but it has its moments and worth wasting an hour or so over.
