Mrs Anne Gemmell in her Hoops Coat for the 1967 European Cup final
Lisbon Lion Tommy Gemmell sells his football mementoes at auction.
Lisbon Lion Tommy Gemmell was the first of the Lions to sell his collection of memorabilia which included Medals shirts and caps.
Tommy had already given the shirt he swapped with Sandro Mazzola to the Lisbon Lion committee to auction for charity on the 25th Anniversary of the European Cup win, raising 6500 quid.
After a break in at his house, the collection which the burglars missed or for some reason never took, the entire collection was sold at Christie’s saleroom in Bath Street Glasgow in October 1994.
Glasgow businessman and ex Celtic Director Willie Haughey purchased the entire collection paying 32,000 GBP which went straight into Tommy’s pension fund. .
