A young goalkeeping prospect who came to the attention of scouts having been called up for Scotland U16s while at Royal Grammar School in Newcastle.
Challenged Owen Jones for playing time in the U17 team but released at the culmination of the following season. Subsequently had trials with Blyth Spartans and Doncaster Rovers and also spent time with local Gateshead amateurs Reeves Independent in 2007/08.
Emigrated to Michigan in 2009 for a 'soccer' scholarship with Davenport University.
