Michael Jago was a 16-year-old Liverpudlian goalkeeping prospect drafted onto the youth team panel ahead of the 2000/01 treble winning season. He had previously been with the Everton Youth set up from the age of 12 and represented Liverpool Schoolboys at U14 and U15 level.
He departed at the end of the season and spent a few months with Preston North End and Bury before joining Chester City for season 2001/02 without making a first team appearance. He appears to have spent October 2001 with Vauxhall Motors, the then Conference level outfit after signing on a short term trial/non-contract basis. He left to join the Army in 2002 and was in the services till 2007 making representative appearances for both the Army and the Combined Services football teams.
Later signed for Welsh cracks Caernarfon Town in December 2007, reportedly from Vauxhall Motors FC – a local part-time club in the lower reaches of the English 'pyramid' system. Since making his debut on Ne'erday 2008 he has made sporadic appearances for 'the Canaries' but suffered the anguish of relegation from the Welsh top flight in 2009.
By all accounts is still battling for the gloves at Caernarfon, now in the rarified environs of the Cymru Alliance.
