The funeral of Jimmy Johnstone will take place at St. John the Baptist Church, Uddingston, this Friday, 17th March 2006 at 10am.
Following discussion between Celtic Football Club and Jimmy's family, we would advise that due to the great numbers of close family, friends and figures from the world of football attending the funeral service, entry to the church will unfortunately will be restricted.
It should be stressed that there will be no parking available at the church and space is very limited.
Celtic Football Club is liaising closely with the family to ensure as many people as possible will be able to pay their respects to Jimmy.
This will take the form of a designated route which the cortege will take following the service, from the church to Celtic Park.
The cortege route during Jimmy Johnstone's funeral on Friday has been agreed
today and is as follows;
OUTWARD
St John the Baptist Church, Lower Millgate, Uddingston

INWARD

Turn left at Powburn Toll

Turn right for New Edinburgh Road

On Friday, London Road, Glasgow, will be closed between Fielden Street and Springfield Road, between 11am and around 1pm , diversions will be in place.
In Uddingston, Old Mill Road/Lower Millgate will be closed between New Edinburgh Road and Towie Place, between 9am and 11.30am.
There will be no parking available at the church and spaces in the surrounding area will be limited.
Parking will be restricted in the area of Celtic Park.
