This was one of the least inspiring European campaigns in recent memory with the highlight win coming right at the beginning of the season. This has been shown by the few who voted and my struggle to find some kind of inspiration in getting it posted (That’s my excuse for it being a WEE bit late and I am sticking to it!)
The countdown begins with nine players that disappointed so much no one even bothered to vote for them. Can their careers reach any lower heights?
19th= – Caddis P – 0
19th= – Carey G – 0
19th= – Flood W – 0
19th= – Killen C – 0
19th= – McGowan P – 0
19th= – McManus S – 0
19th= – Naylor L – 0
19th= – O’Dea D – 0
19th= – Wilson M – 0
Next the players that were poor enough to merely merit the odd vote here and there:
17th= – Brown S – 1
17th= – Caldwell G – 1
16th – McCourt P – 2
15th – Zaluska L – 14
14th – Fortuné M A – 15
13th – Robson B – 17
12th – McGinn N – 20
11th – Loovens G – 24
Cracking the top ten I give you the bungler that is
10th – Maloney S – 25
A little less dumfounding at number nine is our very own dopey
9th – Donati M – 26
Disenchanting his way to a move to Middesboro, Skippy is at number eight
8th – McDonald S – 30
Yet another let down and yet another player shipped out, the tattooed wonder at seven
7th – Fox D – 68
Not quite as ineffective in that we have not sold him yet, Hinkel just misses out on the top five.
6th – Hinkel A – 82
Falling flat at number five is our holy goalie
5th – Boruc A – 121
Insipid at number four is Marc Crosas
4th – Crosas M – 150
He looks like Jesus but the miracles are uninspiring and short in supply, George Samaras
3rd – Samaras G – 300
Still smarting from being beaten to the 2008 Euro player of the year by Gary Caldwell, McGeady is not quite the least unsatisfying but he was close!
2nd – McGeady A – 586
Our winner and least uninspiring player for the Euro campaign 2009 is….
Landry N’Guemo! With 618 votes.
Landry is seen here after being told of the news, note the wee hand gesture reminding Aiden he was second and failed to win again
