First signed as a 13-year-old Inverness Royal Academy pupil after a week long trial in October 1994. Scored twice in a 4-1 win over Rangers Boys and was snapped up by Tommy Burns and David Hay before the week was out – the only one taken on out of 130 schoolboy hopefuls given trials that half-term.
Played alongside Mark Burchill in Scotland U16's 2-2 draw in Denmark, 17 September 1996.
Signed pro in 1997 by Burns after playing for Celtic Boy's Club in the North East (alongside Mark Brown). He played in the youth team but was allowed to join Inverness Caley on loan in March 1999 – ahead of the wholesale youth team clear-out in May 1999. Gary Nicol also finished 98-99 at ICT but opted instead for Ross County in the summer.
Kellacher spent the next season with ICT without breaking through and then joined Nairn County in 2000. He hit 16 goals in his first season which he attributed to watching Larsson in training. In several years as a Highland League regular he featured as a forward, midfielder and even as a cultured sweeper. He started coaching ICT's U19 team in 2006. After hitting 23 goals for Nairn and requesting a transfer, he spent part of 2006/07 back in senior football on loan to Elgin City – but only made one league appearance.
In 2007-08 Kellacher did not play due to a dispute with Nairn County manager Les Fridge who effectively froze him out by putting a £15,000 price tag on his head. When his Nairn contract expired he joined Highland League rivals Inverness Clachnacuddin for 2008-09.
In 2009 Kellacher suffered a double blow when ICT got relegated and axed him as part of downsizing their youth setup. Also 'Clach' went into administration with Kellacher published as a creditor (£1200).
When ICT were promoted back to the SPL in 2010 after one season they re-instated Kellacher as U19 boss.
