Celtic and Charity | Celtic's Foundation | About Celtic | Celtic Committee | Forum |
Every year the members of our sister site – Kerrydalestreet.co.uk – help to raise thousands of pounds for various charities.
In the best traditions of the Celtic support the KDS moderators and forum members have always been pro-active in supporting worthy causes. This is done primarily through raffles, the sale of KDS merchandise and social events. In season 2007/08 some £6,250 was raised. Members then had an opportunity to nominate and vote on what charities they wished to see benefit.
Among the charities to receive donations from the fund are the Yorkhill Hospital Children's Foundation, The Friends of Alan Doherty (See video below), Education for the Children Foundation and the Walfrid Wells. As the KDS Player of the Year a £1,000 went to Aiden McGeady to give to the charity of his choice.
A total in excess of £15,000 has been donated to various charities since the forum began.
