Right-half Felix O’Neill signed for the Bhoys from Shotts United in December 1910.
The Motherwell-born player made just a single first team appearance for the Hoops in a 1-1 league draw at St Mirren on 18th March 1911. He took the place of exalted Sunny Jim Young, but sadly no further chances were given. Not a great day to play football in with some very poor weather according to a match report, which possibly was what contributed to the final result in what was described as a ‘disappointing’ match.
Celtic finished fifth in the league that season (1910/11), and had slipped back after having dominated the league title during the first decade of the century with a then record six titles in a row. There was still a few seasons to go before the first team again managed to recover and reassert their strength in the league.
He left first on loan to Alloa and then permanently in 1912 to Bathgate.
