Celtic Career Review
Midfielder Brian had been playing for Rosario youth club in Belfast and travelling over to Scotland to play for Celtic Boys Club before he was handed a full time pro deal with Celtic in 1995.
He then progressed through the youth and reserve ranks over the following years, overcoming a broken leg sustained in an Old Firm reserve match in November 1996.
He made 25 appearances for the reserve side in the famous 1997/98 season, scoring two goals and trying his hand as a left back and central midfielder in addition to his usual position on the left of midfield. He won international recognition with the Northern Ireland U21s and seemed poised for a first team breakthrough in 1998/99 after winning a place on the bench for the UEFA Cup games with FC Zurich.
Left in the great youth and reserve clearout of May 1999 and spent much of the following season trialling with various clubs (Waterford, Cambridge United) before pitching up at lowly Cowdenbeath in March 2000. Then signed for crisis hit Hamilton Accies in July 2000 but only made sporadic appearances before dropping into the Juniors early in the next season with Kilsyth Rangers.
Enjoyed a long association with 'the Gers' before heading to big spending East Region cracks Bathgate Thistle in the 2005 off season. Here he linked up with former Celtic teammate Barry Elliot and reached the final of the Junior Cup but left after just one season to return to his adopted home of Lanarkshire and Kirkintilloch Rob Roy FC.
He continues with the romantically named Rob Roy, alongside another ex-Celtic teammate Garry Carberry.
