Sunderland player Jimmy Montgomery receiving treatment from Johnny Watters (no date)
George Mulhall receives treatment for an ankle injury from physiotherapist John Watters in January 1968, as Gordon Harris looks on
Below montage has “Watters” but this is wrong, it’s not Jackie Watters but Motherwell’s Willie Watters.
Will Scott, John Waters, Arthur & Jack Jones (Sunderland)
According to a former workmate who knew Jacky Watters, the player on the front of the card is not him, and this player is wearing a Motherwell kit. Jacky died in 2012 aged 92.
I decided to do some research and thanks to the help of some members of Steelmen Online, a messageboard for Motherwell fans, it seems the photo is Watters, not Jacky as indicated on the back of the card, but Willie, who was at Motherwell from 1947 to 1951.
Willie Watters is second from the left in the group of players celebrating their League Cup victory in 1950-51.
