Trivia
- This game was played in two thirty-five minutes.
Review
From newspaper reports from the time.
The Glasgow Celtic visited Blantyre and played a friendly game with the Victoria on the Castle Park before a large crowd of spectators. The weather was excellent though oppressive.
The Celtic won the toss and kicked off. From the first it was evident the game was to be a one-sided one, McMahon giving some fine exhibitions of dribbling, and Gallagher was in excellent form, reminding his old friends of his play in his earlier days.
The game was two thirty-five minutes, and at half-time the game stood – Celtic, two; Victoria, nothing.
During the second half the Victoria had no show, though Robertson defended well.
The game resulted:- Celtic, three; Victoria nothing.
