1st 1950: Danny McGrain born in Glasgow.

1971 : The Lisbon Lions turn out for the last time against Clyde in a 6-1 win against Clyde at Parkhead. Ronnie Simpson leads the team out but cannot play because of injury.

1985: Janefield Riot: Celtic 1-1 Rangers; Trouble after the game when mounted Police charge down a heavily packed Janefield Street as fans were leaving the ground.

2nd 1997: Tommy Burns dismissed as Celtic manager.
3rd 1975: Billy McNeill makes his final appearance in the Hoops as he skippers Celtic to a 3-1 Scottish Cup final victory over Airdrie at Hampden.

1986: Celtic defeat St Mirren 5-0 at Love Street to clinch the league title from Hearts on goal difference.

1998: Dunfermline 1-1 Celtic, lets Rangers back in to steal title BUT Killie sucker punch Rangers to put Celtic back in for 1 in a row despite referee’s efforts!

4th 1974: Celtic cruise to a 3-0 Scottish Cup final win over Dundee United at Hampden to claim the ‘Double’.
5th 2007: Celtic went to Ibrox having already been crowned league champions but duly slumped to a 2-0 defeat.
6th 1970: Celtic lose 2-1 to Feyenoord after extra time in the final of the European Cup at the San Siro, Milan.

1972: Dixie Deans nets a hat-trick as Celtic beat Hibernian 6-1 in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden to claim the ‘double’.

7th 1977: Andy Lynch’s penalty gives Celtic victory in a 1-0 win over Rangers in the Scottish Cup final.

2010: Posting of an article on “Willie Maley’s grave” by KDS poster Maley’s Spirit on @thecelticwiki website leads to creation of the Celtic Graves Society.

8th 1953: Celtic sign Neil Mochan from Middlesbrough for a fee of £8,000.
9th 1893: Celtic clinch their first ever League Championship with a 3-1 home victory over Leith Athletic.

1904: Celtic Park – Celtic Stand and Pavilion destroyed in a fire.

1945:Celtic win The Victory in Europe Cup defeating Queens Park in the Final.

1998: Celtic 2-0 St Johnstone, 9 May 1998. Stopping the Huns’ 10-in-a-row 1998

10th 1980: A George McCluskey goal in extra time gives Celtic a 1-0 victory over Rangers in the Scottish Cup final; Rangers fans start a riot at the end of the match which goes live across the UK!.
11th 1953: A Bobby Collins goal gives Celtic a thoroughly deserved 1-0 win over English champions Arsenal in the First Round of the Coronation Cup.

1979: Celtic win 2-0 against St Mirren at Ibrox in a game played on a Friday evening. Love Street was in the process of reconstruction and Police would not allow the game to be played on the Saturday due to Rangers playing Hibs at Hampden. Lennox and McCluskey scored.

12th 1971: Celtic defeat Rangers 2-1 in the Scottish Cup final, after a replay.

1984: Celtic sign Alan McInally from Ayr United.

13th 2000: Mark Fotheringham becomes the youngest player to play a competitive game for Celtic when he debuts in the league clash with St Johnstone. He was aged 16 years and 204 days.
14th 1960: Celtic wear numbers on their shorts for the first time as they defeat Sparta Rotterdam 5-1 in a friendly at Parkhead.

1988: Celtic clinch the ‘double’ in their centenary season with a 2-1 Scottish Cup final victory at Hampden against Dundee United

15th 1982: Celtic defeat St Mirren 3-0 at Parkhead to clinch a second successive league title.

1993: Celtic entertain Dundee at Parkhead. The match is the last league game to be played in front of the Jungle terracing. The famous enclosure would be converted to a seated area.

2001: Lisbon Lion Bobby Murdoch died in the Victoria Infirmary,Glasgow aged 56 – The first of “The Lions” to pass away.

2008:Tommy Burns dies of cancer aged 51 years.

16th 1953: Celtic defeat Manchester United 2-1 in the semi-final of the Coronation Cup thanks to goals from Bertie peacock and Neil Mochan.
17th 1956: Jock Stein plays his last game for Celtic in a friendly against Coleraine in Ireland.

1966: Jock Stein named Britain’s Manager of the Year

18th 1840:Brother Walfrid was born

1967: Jock Stein named Britain’s Manager of the Year for the second year in succesion.

1985: Celtic defeat Dundee Utd 2-1 in the 100th Scottish Cup final.

19th 1984: Roy Aitken is sent-off as Celtic are defeated 2-1 after extra time by Aberdeen in Scottish Cup final at Hampden
20th 1953: Celtic lift the Coronation Cup at Hampden after defeating Hibernian 2-0 in the final.

1989: Joe Miller’s solitary goal gives Celtic a 1-0 victory in the Scottish Cup final against Rangers.

21st 1979: Ten man Celtic come twice from behind to defeat Rangers 4-2 at Parkhead and claim the league championship in the most dramatic of fashions.

2003: Celtic 2-3 Porto, UEFA Cup final in Seville

22nd 2004: Henrik Larsson scores twice on his last competitive game for the club, as Celtic come from behind to defeat Dunfermline 3-1 in the Scottish Cup final.
23rd 1931: Celtic open their tour of the United States and Canada with a 6-1 victory in Philadelphia over Pennsylvannia All Stars.

2015: In memory of Peter Johnstone, a remembrance service was held in respect to him organised by the ‘Peter Johnstone Memorial Group‘. Funds were raised to build a lasting memorial, comprising a wonderful statue and surrounding gardens. 

24th 1931: Celtic defeat New York Giants 3-2 at the Polo Grounds, New York.

25th 1967: Celtic win the European Cup in Lisbon

2009:Gordon Strachan resigns from the post of Celtic Manager.

2019: Celtic Park hosted Rugby Union’s Guinness Pro 14 (ne Celtic league) grand final; the first non-rugby union ground to host this event.

26th 1963: Celtic defeat Dundalk 4-3 in an away friendly, with Dundalk’s legendary ‘one-armed’ player Jimmy Hasty scoring!

2001: Celtic beat Hibernian 3-1 at Hampden to lift the Scottish Cup and claim the treble.

2007: Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe’s goal gives Celtic a 1-0 victory in the Scottish Cup final against Dunfermline.
