Biog

Jim Duffy was one of the unluckiest Celtic players ever as he was an understudy to the great Roy Aitken between 1979 and 1982.
Duffy was a stalwart of the great Celtic reserve sides under Frank Connor and Bobby Lennox who went two years unbeaten in reserve football between 1980 and 1982.
He was often in first team squads but played only a few games, principally Friendlies and Glasgow Cup ties where a Reserve side was put out like on 8th May 1979 and 10th October 1980 in what was essentially a reserve side.
Jim reluctantly joined Morton in January 1982 as is opportunities as Celtic were limited.
Had Jim came along a few seasons later he could have been a Celtic regular and he gave great service to Morton, Dundee and Falkirk.
Jim and Charlie Nicholas were actually neighbours in Maryhill as boys and joined Celtic at the same time.

He would subsequently enjoy a good playing career with Dundee (at several periods) and Partick Thistle before moving firsat into player manager roles and then full management. He has managed Falkirk, Dundee, Hibernian, Brechin City and Clyde as well as 'enjoying' a period as caretaker manager at Norwish City in 2007.

He is currently (2015) manager of Morton and a well respected figure on the Scottish football scene known for his honest views, decent character and bald pate.
