This senior competition was organised by the North Eastern FA in Glasgow, and open to clubs in the East and North End of the city.

The first trophy ever won by the Club, dating back to 11th May 1889

The first medal awarded in the history of Celtic Football Club. The Glasgow North Eastern Football medal dated 1888/89 hails from the first year of the clubs existence, and before any official Scottish League system.
